Happy New Year!!

January 1

Happy New Year!!!
I saw this picture from Whitney English, who I am so happy have gotten to meet and know this year. It was absolutley perfect for my “Bring on 2012″ post!

I am so blessed to have had such an amazing 2011. I am so grateful for my supportive family, perfect fit of a husband, a thriving business, wonderful adventures, and phenomenal friends.

Normally, I am always ready to welcome a new year. Last night I started getting a little sad to say goodbye to 2011. It was an unbelievable year. As I look back I can see that so many of my goals that I set for myself and my business were accomplished. It is such a sense of accomplishment, but also a challenge to set bigger goals for next year. Scary, in such an exhilarating way!

A year ago when I sat down to write out my goals they seemed so lofty and unattainable. I knew I would figure out a way to make it happen. I did, and am so thankful.

So, as I sit here today with my journal I am going to push myself even more  next year. I want to give my clients an excellent planning experience, I want my design to be stronger and more creative, I want my husband, family, and friends to know how much I love and appreciate them, and most importantly I want to be present in all moments this year.

I am so excited and am ready to knock the socks off of 2012!!!!

Erin

100 Weddings!

October 31

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Erin McLean Events had a huge milestone last weekend: 100 Weddings! Wow, 100 Weddings! It is a number that seems crazy to me. Because I remember every single couple and wedding like it was yesterday! I still can picture the moment that I sent Claire down the aisle out at Celebrity Dairy at my first wedding. I remember my fear when the air conditioning unit dripped on their gorgeous custard (horrified!). Most importantly, I remember loving every minute of their day! I fell in love with wedding planning!

I had the pleasure of working with Trisha and Adam for their wedding at the gorgeous Carolina Inn. Trisha was a bride with great ideas and style, she was just unsure how to bring it all together. That is where I came in. We worked on the overall event design and planning to have a gorgeous and flawless wedding for this awesome couple!

I was beyond excited to receive this email from the Mother of the Bride Monday morning:

Good morning, sunshine.  Just had to let you know what a fantastic job you did for us on Trisha’s wedding.  Everything went off beautifully, and I think for sure that Trish had the wedding of her dreams.  She has done nothing but praise you all weekend long.

Again, you were absolutely GREAT, and Trish and I both will highly recommend you to any of our friends or family should the need for a wedding planner arise.   We have been working with you since June, and I feel like you have become one of the family.   We will miss you.

Warmest and sincerest regards,

Sandy
I have been so fortunate the past four years to do what I love. Thank you so much to all of my couples and families that have allowed me into your lives! I am so thankful!!

The new Erin McLean Events!

October 18

I am so incredibly excited to share my new branding with all of you!!

As I entered my 4th year of business this past year, I realized the look and feel of Erin McLean Events needed to feel more more authentic, more me. What did that even mean? Good question!

In January I  had the great fortune of attending a workshop called Making Things Happen. It was there that I really started identify who my ideal bride is. I have always wanted to be a great fit for my brides and vice versa. Making Things Happen was a huge eye opener for me. It made me a better business owner, wife, sister, friend, and planner. I knew that I was a very good wedding planner and designer, but I needed my branding to feel like me.

For 2011, I wanted to truly focus on creating a great experience for my couples from start to finish. To do this, I enlisted the help of some truly talented women. Lara Casey and Emily Ley with Making Brands Happen. Then the real work began!

So, drum roll please…

Thank you to Cathy Olson for doing such a gorgeous job on my new site and blog!

I truly love what I do. I am so blessed to have a job that makes me excited to get up in the morning and come to work. I am always wanting to learn more and grow as a person, professionally and personally. I have put a lot of work into not only the new branding, but in the operations and day to day of Erin McLean Events. I am so excited to share all of this with you.

I will be focusing my blog on Real Weddings, Entertaining ideas, DIY Projects, and all things inspiring.

Thank you so much for visiting my new site! I hope you enjoy!!

 xoxo,

Erin
